Long-term renting
A whole home,
for the long term.
Staylo is the app for letting or renting a whole home on a long-term tenancy. It opens in Manchester, on iPhone.
Get early accessFree for tenants. Free to list. Homes are in the app, not on this website yet.
One home. One tenancy.
- A whole home. Staylo is for the entire property. It is not for a room in a shared house.
- A long-term let. The tenancy, the deposit and the rent live in the app. This is not a short stay.
- Manchester first. Early access is on iPhone, starting in Manchester.
- Not an agent. Staylo Technologies Ltd provides the app. The tenancy is between the landlord and the tenant.
From the listing to the keys.
-
The home is listed
The landlord adds the property in the app. The full move-in cost is on the listing before anyone applies.
-
You talk, then you apply
Messages stay with that home. After a viewing, the tenant applies and the landlord accepts or declines.
-
Identity, then the holding deposit
Photo ID and the holding deposit come after the landlord has accepted. The holding deposit is one week’s rent, capped by the Tenant Fees Act. If the tenancy goes ahead it is credited against the first month’s rent.
-
Sign, then move in
The tenancy is signed in the app. The deposit and the first rent are paid through Stripe, to the landlord. Staylo does not hold the money.
-
The deposit is protected
The landlord protects the tenancy deposit in a government-approved scheme. The app keeps the scheme details and the proof.
Tenants pay Staylo nothing.
- Tenants. Searching, applying, signing and messaging are free.
- Landlords. Listing is free. Staylo takes 3% of rent paid through the app, and nothing on deposits.
- Card fees. Stripe’s processing fee comes off money the landlord receives through the app. The landlord pays that fee.
The detail for landlords is on the landlord page. What a tenant sees is on the tenant page.
